While the rumors were out there, the Phoenix Suns made it pretty clear that they would not even consider a trade for their veteran point guard unless Steve Nash requested one himself. That said, Nash, a 38-year-old still playing at a very high level, is a free agent this summer; one would think that the Suns would at least try to move him for some (younger) value if there was any chance he could walk when free agency opens up in July. That hasn't been the case, though.
With only a couple hours remaining before the deadline strikes, Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated has all but ruled out the possibility of Nash getting moved.
Nash is averaging an NBA-best 11.1 assists per game this season and shooting a remarkable 55-percent from the floor.
