Danilo Gallinari was ruled out with a broken thumb after sustaining the injury in the third quarter of Monday's matchup.
Danilo Gallinari left Monday night's matchup between the Denver Nuggets and Dallas Mavericks, heading to the locker room for further evaluation while appearing to hold his hand. A short time later, we found out Gallinari fractured his left thumb and has been ruled out for the rest of the game, if not longer.
The report comes from Benjamin Hockman of the Denver Post.
Uh oh. Gallinari has a left thumb fracture, won't return
— Benjamin Hochman (@nuggetsnews) March 20, 2012
The fracture appeared to occur as Gallinari went up for a block in the third quarter. Gallinari was nursing his left hand after challenging a lay-up near the hoop, and was pulled from the game a short time later. He was quickly taken back to the locker room for X-rays, and the news was confirmed a short time later.
We'll be back with more on Gallinari's injury as it becomes available. For more on the Nuggets, head to SB Nation Denver and Denver Stiffs.
