The Dallas Mavericks' easy 112-95 triumph against the Denver Nuggets on Monday wasn't all that surprising, given their hot shooting. But the injury-ravaged Nuggets taking yet another hit was.
Dirk Nowitzki had 33 points on 12-of-19 shooting, and added 11 rebounds, as Dallas shot 53.6 percent from the floor on the night and canned 10 of its 25 threes.
But the most important story of the night in Denver was Danilo Gallinari, or, more specifically, the fractured left thumb Gallinari suffered. The Nuggets shot a pedestrian 43.4 percent on the night, and have struggled with injuries to seemingly half of their roster in the 2011-12 season. Losing Gallinari, who has emerged as a playmaker for a team without a true star, would be a huge blow to Denver's playoff hopes.
