Derek Fisher Reportedly Signs With Thunder, Will Debut Wednesday Against Clippers

Stay connected with SB Nation

Former Los Angeles Lakers' point guard Derek Fisher has reached an agreement with the Oklahoma City Thunder, according to Yahoo!'s Adrian Wojnarowski. The Lakers traded Fisher at the deadline last week to Houston but the veteran point guard did not report and never played a game for the Rockets. Both parties agreed to a buyout earlier this week.

Many speculated that he would likely land in Oklahoma City, and Wojnarowski reports that he arrived in town Wednesday morning and signed a deal shortly after clearing waivers at 6:00 pm. With the ink barely dry and the Clippers in town, he will apparently be in uniform and on the bench Wednesday night for the Thunder's game against Los Angeles. He will be backing up All-Star point guard Russell Westbrook as the Thunder enter the stretch run with a hold on the top spot in the Western Conference.
