Mickael Pietrus suffered a serious-looking injury on Friday night in a game against the 76ers.
Boston Celtics small forward Mickael Pietrus suffered a frightening injury Friday night. In a road game against the Philadelphia 76ers, Pietrus landed awkwardly on his head and neck, according to the official Celtics Twitter feed.
Pietrus was carted off the court, although he was able to give the crowd the thumbs-up before departing. The initial reaction is that the injury looks extremely serious, based on several tweets that came out during the time that Pietrus was being attended to, including the one you see below.
CSN broadcast just said Pietrus was spitting blood and convulsing before being stabilized. Oh jeez. @ZachLowe_SI

The convulsing could be symptomatic of a serious head and neck injury.
Hopefully the injury is not as serious as it appears.
