VIDEO: Kobe Bryant Shows Age, Defies Defense With His Left Hand

Stay connected with SB Nation

Kobe Bryant doesn't typically look like the type of player one would find in the game at the local YMCA because he's still Kobe Bryant, but he pulled off one of those veteran savvy moves famous from the 40-year-old noonball crowd against the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday night.

The Los Angeles Lakers star only scored five points in the first half of the second game of ESPN's doubleheader, but he seems to be getting it going in the second half. The veteran playmaker scored 11 points in the third quarter, capping it off with a nifty left-handed shot through two Grizzlies defenders.

O.J. Mayo might not have been able to play much better defense than he did on the play and Rudy Gay's help should have been ample enough, but the Black Mamba's array of shot fakes capped off by a left-handed leaner were simply too much for any defense to handle.

Unfortunately for Lakers fans, however, the Lakers still trail.
