Derrick Rose Injury Update: Bulls PG Will Not Play Against Thunder

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Chicago Bulls will be playing the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday afternoon. The two teams are the best in their respective conferences and this will be the first and only regular-season contest between the two. Unfortunately, the game will not feature the Bulls' superstar point guard, and reigning NBA MVP, Derrick Rose.

Royce Young of the Daily Thunder reports that Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau has verified Rose will not play in Sunday's game. Rose has been bothered by a groin injury and there were earlier reports that his status would be a game-time decision. If Rose will face the Thunder at all this season, it will have to be in the NBA Finals.

Thibodeau also stated that Bulls shooting guard Richard Hamilton would, in fact, be a game-time decision.
