The NBA Summer League returns after a one-year hiatus. It will take place in Las Vegas from July 13-22.

The 2012 NBA Summer League schedule was announced on Wednesday, and the event will take place from July 13-22 in Las Vegas. Games will once again take place at the Thomas and Mack Center on the campus of UNLV. Teams and specific dates for games will be announced in the future.

The summer league is returning to Las Vegas for the eighth time since 2004. It has occurred every year since then except for last year, when the NBA lockout prevented it from taking place. The games will feature top draft picks, other young players and fringe talents looking to catch on with an NBA team or overseas.

The last time the NBA Summer League took place was in 2010. The 10-day event was highlighted by a fourth-quarter duel between No. 1 pick John Wall and a little-known guard named Jeremy Lin, then playing on the Dallas Mavericks' team.
