Toronto Raptors forward Andrea Bargnani will miss the rest of the regular season with left calf tightness. He averaged 19.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in 31 injury-plagued games played.

Andrea Bargnani has been ruled out for the rest of the 2011-12 season by the Toronto Raptors due to tightness in his left calf, according to Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports. Bargnani has played just 31 games this season while constantly struggling with his injured calf. He aggravated the injury again Sunday against the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he was coming off a stretch of 18 consecutive games played.

The Italian big man missed six games in the middle of January with the same injury. He returned briefly for a two-game stint but left the lineup again on Jan. 27, this time missing 20 games.

Bargnani was very effective when he was able to find his way onto the court, averaging 19.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in 33.3 minutes per game. He helped the Raptors to a three-game winning streak--their longest string of wins this season--to open the month April.
