The Dallas Mavericks visit the Lakers at Staples Center Sunday afternoon in a potential preview of the 3-6 match-up in the Western Conference playoffs.
The Dallas Mavericks have hit somewhat of a cold streak at the worst possible time in the season. The reigning NBA Champions, if the season ended today, would be the sixth seed in the Western Conference. At 34-26, they're just a game and a half clear of the teams tied for seventh and eighth place (the Houston Rockets and Denver Nuggets) and three games ahead of the Phoenix Suns in the ninth spot with just a handful of games left in the season.
The Los Angeles Lakers would be the Mavericks' first-round opponents at the moment. Kobe Bryant and the Gang are in position for the No. 3 seed in the conference, but they would like to finish strong to make sure the Clippers and Grizzlies don't pass them for that position. The Lakers host the Mavs Sunday afternoon and will wear their fresh Sunday whites at home, which I will never get tired of.
Game Date/Time: Sunday, April 15, 3:30 p.m. ET
Location: Staples Center, Los Angeles
TV: ABC
