With the Los Angeles Lakers locked in a close game with the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday, one would reasonably expect the team to turn to Kobe Bryant. They did, but the injured star had to make a difference in a new role: Coach Kobe.
Here, Coach Kobe gesticulates wildly, likely to convey that, "If I were on the court, we wouldn't be in this mess!"
And here — in a screengrab you should definitely not take and make a meme of, Internet — Coach Kobe tells Andrew Bynum that he should shoot as many threes as he wants, I think, and Pau Gasol makes the exact face I would make if Kobe Bryant were trying to coach me.
The Lakers did end up winning, 112-108, but it's unlikely that Coach Kobe had anything to do with that, considering that Metta World Peace scored 18 points in the victory, and there's no way Coach Kobe would let that guy shoot.
