The Spurs all but claimed the No. 1 seed in the West playoffs with a victory over the Cavs.. The Clippers still have a shot at catching the Lakers.

The San Antonio Spurs took advantage of the Oklahoma City Thunder's double-overtime loss on Sunday, cinching up the Cleveland Cavaliers, 114-98, and taking a 1.5-game lead for the No. 1 seed in the West. It is almost assured the Spurs will win No. 1 now; they need a win over the Blazers, Suns or Warriors this week to make it official. (A Thunder loss would also do the trick.)

The L.A. Clippers needed a win to keep hope alive in the chase for the Pacific Division title (and its No. 3 seed), and L.A. got it as Chris Paul dropped 33 points and 14 assists against his old team in a 107-98 win over the New Orleans Hornets. The Clips need to sweep the Hawks and Knicks this week and see the Kings beat the Lakers on Thursday to claim the Pacific.

In other action ...

Warriors 93, Timberwolves 88: What are you doing, Warriors?! Golden State beat Minnesota, putting the Dubs all alone with 23 wins. Seven teams have fewer wins. Golden State, of course, needs to end up with the No. 7 pick or better to keep it.

Kings 114, Bobcats 88: The next time someone asks you "How bad are the Bobcats?" you can answer, "Lose to the Kings by 26 at home bad."

Pistons 76, Cavaliers 73: Cleveland's tankability is underrated.
