Suns Vs. Jazz Final Score: Utah Clinches Playoff Spot With 100-88 Victory

The Utah Jazz booked a trip to the 2012 Western Conference playoffs with a 100-88 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night. They became the final team to secure a postseason berth, which they did against their only remaining competition for the eighth and final spot in the West.

Paul Millsap led the way for the Jazz with 26 points and 15 rebounds while Al Jefferson followed with 18 points and 16 rebounds. The team received contributions from Gordon Hayward and Devin Harris with 11 points and eight assists from the former and 14 points from the latter. Derrick Favors added a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds off the bench.

The Suns entered the final quarter of play down by just five points, but the Jazz were able to control the pace of the game and extend that to the 12-point differential at the final buzzer. Steve Nash paced the offense with 14 points and 11 assists while Jared Dudley had a team-high 15 points. Marcin Gortat grabbed 12 boards.

The Jazz close out the season on Thursday against the Portland Trail Blazers. After that, the Jazz are likely to face the No. 1 seed San Antonio Spurs.
