VIDEO: Rajon Rondo Ejected, Probably Facing A Suspension

Stay connected with SB Nation

Rajon Rondo will probably be in street clothes for Game 2 of the Boston Celtics' NBA Playoff matchup against the Atlanta Hawks. Rondo found himself in a bit of a mess near the end of the game -- heated after a no-call on what could've been a jump ball and in a confrontation with a referee.

Rondo was ejected for his actions -- he came at the ref hard and was issued a tech, then a moment later he received another. It's that second technical foul that'll probably prove costly for Rondo.

Why? Because he chest-bumped the ref. No matter how it can be rationalized -- the TNT announcers tried -- Rondo pretty clearly stuck his chest out and made contact with the ref.

Observe:

Contact with a ref is, obviously, frowned upon by the league office. The NBA has already said it'll review the play on Monday, and it would sure seem Rondo will be facing some kind of suspension.

And that's after the Celtics struggled through Game 1. It's not looking good at all for Boston.
