Los Angeles Lakers forward Jordan Hill has been charged with felony assault.
Los Angeles Lakers backup forward Jordan Hill has been charged with felony assault for allegedly choking a family member during a dispute on February 29, TMZ reports. It remains unclear which family member he allegedly assaulted, but a charge has been filed in Houston. If convicted, Hill will face up to 10 years in prison.
The incident occurred while Hill was still a member of the Houston Rockets. He has since been traded to the Lakers in a trade-deadline deal for Derek Fisher, and has become a key contributor off the bench. Hill played in just seven games during the regular season, but logged 24 minutes in the Lakers' first playoff game.
Further details are not known at this time, so it is unclear whether Hill will be forced to miss any playoff games. The Lakers completed a 103-88 Game 1 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Sunday.
