The NBA Playoffs is a time when every possession counts, or so the cliche goes. If a team wants to gain an advantage, they have to go deep into their bag of tricks to make it happen. Dwyane Wade's bag of tricks is evidently quite deep, as he decided to slow Mike Bibby down by tossing his shoe to the sidelines when it fell off Bibby's foot.
Here's video.
Bibby reacted by standing on the baseline and staring at the official wondering why no infraction was called. So it worked, to an extent. The only problem: it was the Knicks that actually took the ball and got an alley-oop to Tyson Chandler. Oops.
Here's the play again.
In a sense, this is Wade being a bully and picking on the smallest kid on the playground. It's not like Bibby is going to be that much faster with two shoes on his feet.
