Celtics Vs. Bulls Final Score: Chicago Prevails Sans Derrick Rose, 93-86

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Chicago Bulls didn't have Derrick Rose in their Eastern Conference showdown with the Boston Celtics on Thursday night. It didn't matter, as the Bulls ended a two-game skid with a 93-86 victory.

Luol Deng led the Bulls with 26 points, but Chicago's key to victory, as usual, was its defense. After trailing for much of the first half, the Bulls locked down in the second 24 minutes, limiting the Celtics to just 37 points en route to outscoring Boston by 18 points in the third and fourth quarters.

Paul Pierce's 22 points led the Celtics, but required 21 shots, and Kevin Garnett's 12 points and 14 rebounds were somewhat inefficient, thanks to Garnett's 5-of-16 shooting. Rajon Rondo had 10 points and 12 assists, but missed a late jumper with the Celtics down five that could have put pressure on Chicago.
