Spencer Hawes is an NBA center that played roughly 17 good games in his four-year career. Philadelphia 76ers fans are so fed up with him that they go apoplectic whenever he checks into the game. After a predictably forgettable sequence that included a missed layup and horrible defense on Joakim Noah, coach Doug Collins had seen enough. He needed to get Hawes out of the game, and he needed to do it now.
Basically, Collins wanted Hawes out so badly that he didn't initially think to actually replace him with anybody.
