In an attempt to free Paul Pierce from the shackles of Andre Iguodala, the Boston Celtics have run several plays for him early in Game 3. There are two problems, though.
One, Pierce just doesn’t have the legs. He’s not moving well enough to get any separation from Iguodala, and when he gets by him, he’s struggling to get enough lift to finish.
Two, Igudoala, knowing that Pierce is not moving well, is jumping the passing lanes to prevent the easy pass. If Pierce was more mobile, he could cut backdoor, but he’s not.
That’s why the Celtics are off to another cold start.
