Misfortune always seems to find Mike Miller on the basketball court. The Miami Heat swingman can't help but get hurt, having missed significant time with a finger injury in 2011 and an ankle problem in 2012. He dives for loose balls, never seeming to actually come up with them. Then, in Tuesday's Game 5 against the Indiana Pacers, Miller lost his shoe during a pretty routine sequence.
This time, though, Miller decided that, when life threw him lemons, he'd make lemonade.
Miller tossed the shoe to the side and played without it for the next several possessions. Maybe this is his new strategy to avoid injury. If so, while unconventional, I applaud Miller's ingenuity.
