Jerry Sloan, who has interest in coaching in the NBA again, is a free agent. For those of us who saw him patrol the sidelines in Salt Lake for a quarter-century, this is bizarre and amazing. It's like when Bill and Ted brought Sigmund Freud and Joan of Arc and the rest of the gang to 1988 San Dimas.
A sample of a time-machined Jerry Sloan quote from SI.com's excellent Sam Amick:
I wouldn't talk to [the Bobcats] if I wasn't interested. I wouldn't waste their time. That's not something I'm interested in doing. But I have no idea, and they probably have no idea about me, so I don't know. I guess that's why we're meeting.
I guess that's why we're meeting. There's plenty more where that came from.
