Dwight Howard trade rumors are going to be the hot topic for the foreseeable future once again, unfortunately, following last season's long national Dwightmare. The Magic fired head coach Stan Van Gundy and saw general manager Otis Smith walk earlier this week, however, meaning there will be new factors this time around.
Until replacements are named for Smith and Van Gundy, there's really no telling what's going to happen regarding Howard, but that hasn't stopped speculation from running rampant on the internet.
Former ESPN writer Chris Sheridan reported earlier this week that Howard wants to be traded now more than ever, according to his sources -- and the feeling is maybe mutual -- but sources are telling the Orlando Sentinel something altogether different.
Two sources familiar with the Magic's thinking said a report Thursday by the website Sheridanhoops.com that the team has decided to trade Howard is not true.
There's likely not going to be any sort of confirmation either way in the near future, but this is certainly something to keep an eye on as the Magic try to decide who will be running their franchise going forward.
