Deron Williams Will Only Stay With Nets If They Trade For Dwight Howard, According To Report

Brooklyn Nets star point guard Deron Williams is a free agent over the summer, and it has remained unclear whether he will stay with the franchise. Now, however, a new report by Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski suggests that there's only one way Williams stays next year: if Dwight Howard is his teammate. The Nets winning the 2012 NBA Draft lottery and being able to draft Anthony Davis won't be enough on its own, Wojnarowski reports.

The Nets remain committed to acquiring Howard, so much so that they would even be willing to part with Davis in a trade if that's what it takes, reports Wojnarowski.

The Nets have a 7.5 percent chance of winning the lottery, and sources said the organization would be willing to part with Davis for the chance to pair Howard and Williams for the franchise's move into a new Brooklyn arena next season.

Howard is under contract with the Magic for one more season, but Wojnarowski reports he is ready to be dealt from Orlando.
