There wasn't very much offense for 22 of the first 24 minutes of Game 5 of this 2012 NBA Playoffs first-round series between the Boston Celtics and the Atlanta Hawks, but thanks to an offensive explosion by both teams at the end of the half, this game is tied at 40 at halftime. That may not seem like much, but this was heading toward being a historically awful first half before the end.
Both teams continue to struggle from the field, with the Hawks shooting 35 percent and the Celtics shooting 38 percent. Joe Johnson leads all scorers with 11 points, but he's needed 11 shots to do it. Brandon Bass has 10 points to lead the Celtics, while Paul Pierce added nine.
The Celtics can take home the series with a win in this one.
