The Miami Heat and Los Angeles Clippers will both attempt to advance to the second round of the 2012 NBA Playoffs when they take on the New York Knicks and Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night.

Four teams had the opportunity to advance to the second round of the NBA playoffs with a win Tuesday night, but only the Indiana Pacers were able to get the job done. It will be interesting to see if that trend continues on Wednesday night when both the Los Angeles Clippers and Miami Heat have chances to advance with a win.

Fans with no great rooting interest in the series may choose to side with the Grizzlies against the Clippers, with hopes of extending the most fun series of the second round for another game. It could all end if Memphis' Rudy Gay and Co. are unable to shut down Chris Paul and Blake Griffin when the game gets underway at 9:30 p.m. EDT on TNT.

In the prelude, the Heat hope to close out the New York Knicks after failing to do so earlier in the week. The Knicks are surely the underdogs, considering they'll be without guards Jeremy Lin, Baron Davis and Iman Shumpert. Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire will be looking to keep their postseason hopes alive when the game tips off at 7 p.m. on TNT.

If either team does not close out their series, the next games are scheduled for Friday. If both the Clippers and Heat are able to finish their opponents in Game 5, there will be no basketball scheduled to begin this weekend.
