Charlotte Bobcats Coaching Search Narrowed To 3 Finalists

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Charlotte Bobcats decided to narrow their coaching search down to three finalists on Monday night after interviewing a slew of candidates interested in taking over last year's worst NBA team. The finalists ended up being a pretty solid list, too, including two coaches everyone expected and a third worthy of the honor.

Longtime Utah Jazz head coach Jerry Sloan, former NBA player and Phil Jackson disciple Brian Shaw and Los Angeles Lakers assistant Quin Snyder are the final three coaches left in the running, according to the Charlotte Observer's Rick Bonnell. The interview process included 10 different coaches vying for the opportunity.

The Bobcats are expected to hold a second round of interviews soon for Shaw and Snyder, so that each of them can speak with Bobcats owner Michael Jordan. Jordan was present in Salt Lake City when the team initially interviewed Sloan.

Jordan and the Bobcats have a difficult decision upcoming as their three finalists are all pretty different from one another. That said, it's difficult to see how they can go wrong at this stage of the process with these three candidates.
