Phil Jackson And Jeff Van Gundy Rumors Were Rubbish, OKC Thunder's Sam Presti Says

Scott Brooks led the Oklahoma City Thunder to the NBA Finals, but the head coach's contract is up at the end of the month. That lack of contract led to some speculation that the Thunder could replace him with bigger names, but that apparently won't be the case.

ESPN reported last week that Phil Jackson and Jeff Van Gundy were possibilities to replace Brooks on the Oklahoma City sidelines, but Thunder general manager Sam Presti said over the weekend that those reports are "rubbish."

General manager Sam Presti dismissed reports that 11-time NBA champion Phil Jackson or former New York Knicks coach Jeff Van Gundy could be the next coach of the Oklahoma City Thunder, saying an extension with Scott Brooks is a top priority.

"To me, it's rubbish," Presti said Sunday when asked about an ESPN report that Jackson and Van Gundy were being considered as options if Brooks couldn't be re-signed.

Considering Presti is calling the ESPN report rubbish, it'll be really interesting to watch where the Thunder go if they're unable to re-sign Brooks.
