It’s weird to think that going to Tim Duncan post-ups is going deep in Gregg Popovich’s playbook, but I’m sure it’s not the kind of thing the Spurs coach would normally call in this situation. Nevertheless, the Spurs need buckets, Duncan is their star and Serge Ibaka isn’t as good defending the post as Kendrick Perkins is.
Still, it feels desperate. They need to do it, but doing it shows they’re not the team we thought they were. Sorta.
