Blake Griffin Has Not Agreed To Clippers Extension, Says Business Manager

Stay connected with SB Nation

Despite a report from the Los Angeles Times claiming that Blake Griffin agreed to a five-year, $95 million contract extension that would go into effect for the 2013-14 season, no such deal has been agreed to, according to Ken Berger of CBS Sports, who spoke to Griffin's business manager. Griffin is apparently at a wedding and has not spoken with Clippers brass, according to the manager.

It seems as if Griffin would ink the deal at some point, but it's unclear who tipped the Times to the deal that apparently hasn't happened. The Clippers are currently without a general manager as Neil Olshey left to join the Portland Trail Blazers weeks ago.

There's pretty much no chance that Griffin rejects an extension with the Clippers, though some players have taken shorter contracts in recent years. Griffin missed his first NBA season due to a serious knee injury. He's made the All-Star team in both seasons that he has played.
