Griffin was reported to have agreed to the same extension at the end of the June, but his business manager denied the report saying no decision had taken place. Griffin has now apparently followed through with the deal.
The extension will take effect at the start of the 2013-14 season. Griffin was eligible for an early extension as a first-round pick with three or more years of experience in the NBA playing on his rookie contract.
