When Blake Griffin went down with an apparent knee injury during practice Thursday, it didn't look good. Now comes word that Griffin has been diagnosed with a meniscus tear in his left knee, according to Broderick Turner of LATimes.com.
Griffin will have arthroscopic surgery as early as next week and will miss the 2012 London Olympics. The injury, however, will not impact his NBA season as he is expected to be fully recovered in time for the Clippers' October training camp. Griffin is expected to miss eight weeks and the surgery will be performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles.
Griffin was added to the USA National Team after Chris Bosh was forced to withdraw due to an injury.
