New York Knicks point guard Jason Kidd was reportedly arrested in Southampton early on Sunday morning.
Jason Kidd, recently signed by the New York Knicks, was arrested for drunken driving early Sunday morning, according to a report out of The Southampton Patch.
The 39-year-old point guard was later released on his own recognizance.
Details are still emerging, but Southampton Town police confirmed that the basketball star was arrested during the midnight shift.
Kidd, 39, was arraigned on a misdemeanor DWI charge on Sunday morning in Southampton Town Justice Court and released on his own recognizance.
Last Thursday, the Knicks signed Kidd to a three-year, $9.5 million contract. Kidd had spend the past five seasons with the Dallas Mavericks, being part of their 2011 Championship team before coming to the Knicks in free agency.
Kidd had a run in with the law back in 2001 when he was charged with domestic violence.
