While the full 2012-13 NBA schedule is set to be released on Thursday night, it appears that one marquee matchup has already leaked out. According to Kevin Ding at the Orange County Register, Christmas Day 2012 will be headlined by a game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the New York Knicks at the Staples Center.
While the game will likely be watched in large numbers by fans of the two ultra-popular franchises, this may very well end up being a lopsided match between two teams headed in different directions. Both teams have made plenty of offseason moves already, but the Lakers don't appear to be finished and look to have a plan of attack, while the Knicks once again look fairly rudderless.
We'll have to wait and see how the final rosters shake out, but this Christmas Day matchup could end up being an on-court mismatch.
