The Philadelphia 76ers are interviewing Jeff Bower and Mike Zarren for their general manager position early this week, according to John Mitchell of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Zarren has been a right-hand man to Boston Celtics general manager Danny Ainge for the past few years. This will be his second interview, with many people feeling he's the leading candidate to replace Rod Thorn.
Bower is a former GM and head coach of the New Orleans Hornets who had great success during his tenure in the Big Easy. He was the man responsible for drafting Chris Paul, while also acquiring Tyson Chandler. This week's sit-down will be the first with the Sixers for the Hollidaysburg, Pa., native.
ESPN analyst and former Portland Trailblazers assistant GM Tom Penn has also been brought in twice for an interview, but according to Philly.com his stock has fallen.
At this point, there is no timetable to fill the position.
