Team USA is full of high flyers on their roster, players that glide through the air and slam dunks down with so much authority that the court practically shakes. But up until Monday's game against Argentina, none of them, to the best of my knowledge, ever did what Andre Iguodala pulled off during the second quarter.
That's a real replay. We didn't play the dunk, switch to rewind and play the dunk backwards. Iguodala literally dunked the ball off his own body back through the hoop.
This would be a fantastic HORSE shot if Iguodala could have found a way to get the ball to fall back through the hoop. Off the rim, off the shoulder, nothing but net? Nobody could have matched that attempt.
Instead, though, the ball fell out, and the basket didn't count. This confused Iguodala and everyone watching.
I'm biased, being American, but I'm going to argue that Iguodala deserves four points or more for degree of difficulty.
