Bobcats Invite Jeff Adrien, DaJuan Summers To Training Camp

The Charlotte Bobcats have invited power forwards Jeff Adrien and DaJuan Summers to attend their training camp, which gets underway in two weeks at UNC Asheville, according to a report in the Charlotte Observer.

Adrien, a former standout at the University of Connecticut, has been a pro-league journeyman since he left Storrs, Conn., in 2009. The 6'7", 245-pound forward has spent time in Spain, Italy, Russia, the D-League and on the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets. Last season, he played in eight games with Houston and averaged less than nine minutes per outing.

Summers, meanwhile, has spent the majority of his career in the NBA after being drafted by the Detroit Pistons in the second round of the 2009 NBA Draft. The Georgetown product has played in 81 NBA games over the last three seasons despite spending some time in Italy. Throughout his NBA career, the 6'8", 240-pound forward has averaged 3.4 points and 10 minutes per game.

The Bobcats, who finished with the NBA's worst record, 7-59, last year, play their first preseason game Sunday Oct. 7 against the Washington Wizards. They get the regular season underway Friday, Nov. 2 with a home game against the Indiana Pacers.
