Michael Hickey-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The Indiana Pacers will bring star forward Danny Granger along slowly as he recovers from a minor offseason knee injury.

Indiana Pacers forward Danny Granger suffered a minor knee injury this offseason, and as a result the Pacers plan to ease him slowly into preseason camp. According to Mike Wells of the Indianapolis Star, Granger injured his left knee while working out in Los Angeles late this summer. Though Wells says that the injury required "an injection," the Pacers believe that the injury isn't serious and plan for Granger to participate in at least some preseason games.

Granger was banged up at the conclusion of last season as he dealt with an ankle injury toward the end of Indiana's playoff series against the Miami Heat. Granger has dealt with injuries throughout his career, having only played one full season in his seven-year career.

Last year, Granger averaged 18.7 points per game, leading the Pacers for the fifth straight season. It was his lowest total since the 2006-07 season, as teammates like Roy Hibbert and Paul George further asserted themselves.
