Nicolas Batum and the Trail Blazers overcome a 13-point halftime deficit to defeat the visiting Heat.
The Portland Trail Blazers completed an improbable comeback on Thursday night when they overcame the visiting Miami Heat in a 92-90 win that came down to the final seconds.
The Blazers were definitely inspired by a home crowd that remained loud and loyal, and Nicolas Batum put in one of the strong performances of his season with 28 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. It also helped to have LeBron James and Dwyane Wade shoot a combined 12 for 34 on the night.
The Heat seemed to be cruising at halftime as they went up by 13 points with a 52-39 score. However, the Blazers came out at home determined to even the score and a strong third-quarter performance brought them back within five. Batum and company sealed the deal in the fourth quarter, finally taking the lead in the final minutes.
The Trail Blazers move to 20-15 on the season with the win, while the Heat fall to 23-11.
