Chris Paul injury: Clippers star still out vs. Rockets

USA TODAY Sports

Los Angeles Clippers guard Chris Paul will miss Tuesday's game against the Houston Rockets with a bruised kneecap.

The Los Angeles Clippers will be without starting point guard Chris Paul on Tuesday against the Houston Rockets, coach Vinny Del Negro told Rockets.com's Jason Friedman.

Paul told sources of Yahoo!'s Adrian Wojnarowski that his bruised kneecap was feeling better on Tuesday, but it's apparently not enough to allow for the point guard's return.

Paul injured his knee on Saturday against the Orlando Magic when he and Orlando's J.J. Redick bumped knees. Though Paul finished the game, he sat out of Monday night's 99-73 victory against the Memphis Grizzlies. He told the Los Angeles Times that his knee was still swollen leading into the game, and he was still listed as day-to-day leading into Tuesday's contest.

Paul is averaging 16.8 points and 9.7 assists on 48 percent shooting this year.

Eric Bledsoe started in place of Paul against Memphis and put up 14 points, four assists and two steals on Monday. He will be matched up against Houston's Jeremy Lin, who sprained his ankle in practice on Monday but will play Tuesday, according to the Houston Chronicle.
