The Rockets were resilient, but Jamal Crawford and the Clippers proved to be the better team as Los Angeles came away with its second straight victory on the road.
The Los Angeles Clippers showed for the second straight night on Tuesday just how deep they are as they managed to defeat the Houston Rockets on the road at Toyota Center, 117-109.
Jamal Crawford led the Clippers (30-9) with 30 points on 11-of-20 from the field. Blake Griffin and Eric Bledsoe added 19 apiece. The Clippers became the second team in the NBA (Oklahoma City) to reach the 30-win mark this season.
James Harden got off to a strong start, scoring 14 of his 23 points in the first quarter before the Clippers' defense bottled him up in the second half.
The Clippers used a 32-18 third quarter to pull away from the Rockets. Los Angeles came up big on the defensive end, holding Houston to just 7-of-18 from the field in the quarter, including a dismal 1-of-7 from the three-point line. The Clippers also won the rebounding margin, 12-6, and seemingly couldn't miss while shooting 60 percent from the field and going 3-of-4 from the arc.
Los Angeles will play its third game in four days as the team travels to face the Minnesota Timberwolves Thursday night while Houston will take on Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday on the road.
