OKC made things look easy behind Russell Westbrook's strong 32-point performance and outstanding defense.
The Oklahoma City Thunder added another to their league-high win total and made quick work of the Denver Nuggets, 117-97, at the Chesapeake Energy Arena on Wednesday night.
Denver (24-17) never led or tied the game as the Thunder (31-8) showed the fans exactly why they have yet to reach double-digit losses on the season.
Russell Westbrook continued his ascent to superstar status as he scored 32 points on 12-of-20 from the field, adding four assists and two rebounds. Kevin Durant added 20 points and had five steals.
A 34-18 first quarter set the tone early for Oklahoma City as they shot a whopping 59.1 percent from the field led by Westbrook's 16 points. They only committed one turnover, but forced five with stout defense, holding Denver to just 39.8 percent shooting and 0-for-4 from the three-point line. They finished the game a dismal 2-of-15 from the arc.
Kosta Koufos led the way for Denver with 16 points and nine rebounds while JaVale McGee chipped in with 15 points.
Both teams will return to action on Friday night, with the Thunder traveling to take on the Dallas Mavericks and Denver hosting the Washington Wizards.
