The Memphis Grizzlies (25-13) visit the United Center to play the Chicago Bulls (23-15) on Saturday night at 8 p.m. ET as two of the NBA's top defensive teams meet.
The Chicago Bulls host the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday night as both teams try to carry over momentum from wins on Friday night.
The Bulls will have to avoid a let down after a hard-fought win in overtime at Boston on Friday. Twice the Bulls celebrated late jump shots to eventually leave the TD Garden with a win. Guard Kirk Hinrich scored with two second remaining to force overtime and then Marco Belinelli splashed a wild, fade away shot to secure the W in OT for the Bulls.
After expending plenty of energy to win on Friday, Chicago is back home to try to grind out a win against Memphis and their defense which ranks second in defensive efficiency among NBA teams. Further complicating things for the Bulls is a hamstring injury to leading scorer Luol Deng which forced him to leave the floor in the second half on Friday. Deng characterized his chances of playing on Saturday as "low" following the game Friday.
The Grizzlies shook off a three-game losing streak to beat the Sacramento Kings on Friday night with a strong team effort that had all five starters scoring in double-figures. The Grizz have their own forward injury problems to deal with as Zach Randolph sat out the win on Friday with a strained lower back which should also make him questionable to play against the Bulls.
Rudy Gay continues to lead Memphis in scoring while also leading the league in trade rumors. If Deng can't go, Gay should be able to focus more on the offensive end as both teams will be looking for every possible advantage.
The game is scheduled to tip at 8 p.m. ET and will be televised on NBA TV along with local broadcasts on WGN (Chicago) and Fox Sports South (Memphis).
