The Bulls' first 12 minutes — or the Warriors' first 12 minutes — were too much to overcome in Chicago's 16-point win Friday.

The Chicago Bulls ran the Golden State Warriors off the court in the first quarter, and the Bulls cruised in the subsequent 36 minutes to a 103-87 win Friday.

Chicago never trailed Friday. It scored the game's first eight points and opened its lead as wide as 18 in the first quarter when Kirk Hinrich hit two free throws with two seconds left to give the Bulls a 31-13 lead it would take into the second quarter. Hinrich finished with 25 to lead all scorers.

The Warriors didn't let the lead get much worse after the first quarter, but it never got much better either. The closest Golden State got was 10 points at 65-55 with 9:11 to play in the third quarter, but it would not get any better. Golden State shot 34.6 percent Friday and was 4 of 19 from 3-point range.

David Lee led the Warriors with 23 points. Nate Robinson had 22 points and four assists off the bench for Chicago.
