Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez has been selected to replace guard Rajon Rondo for the 2013 NBA All-Star Game.

Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez has been selected to replace Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo in the 2013 NBA All-Star Game following Rondo being diagnosed with a torn ACL, the league announced Wednesday.

Lopez was on the list of All-Star snubs, and he will fill in as the only representative for the Nets, who are currently fourth in the Eastern Conference with a 27-18 record.

Lopez is averaging 18.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and ranks seventh in the league at 2.2 blocks per game. He will join a team heavy in frontcourt players, including Knicks center Tyson Chandler, Heat forward Chris Bosh, Celtics forward Kevin Garnett and Bulls big man Joakim Noah.

Rondo was a starter for the East and will in all likelihood be replaced by first-time All-Star Kyrie Irving. The Boston point guard was nixed from the roster after an MRI on his knee during the Celtics' game against the Miami Heat on Sunday showed that Rondo had torn his ACL. It was originally thought to be a hyperextended knee.
