The 17-year tenured coach will join Tony Parker and Tim Duncan to represent the Western Conference's current best team.

San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich will coach the Western Conference All-Star team for the third time in his career after previously coaching the West in both 2005 and 2011.

The news comes as a result of the fact that the Spurs have secured the conference's best record through Sunday, Feb. 3. San Antonio is 37-11 through 48 games and sits atop the Western Conference playoff picture as the current No. 1 seed. They are an impressive 21-2 at home and have won nine straight games.

The honor is just one among many of Popovich's 17-year tenure as the Spurs' head coach. He's won four NBA titles and is a two-time winner of the NBA Coach of the Year award.

The All-Star game will be played on Sunday, Feb. 17 at 8 p.m. ET in Houston. Spurs forward Tim Duncan will make his 14th appearance in the game as he joins his coach on the West squad while guard Tony Parker will appear in the game for the fifth time.
