A Brooklyn Nets player is being questioned for his connection to a sexual assault investigation that occurred early Tuesday morning. The Nets say they are aware of the investigation.

Philadelphia police have confirmed that a player from the visiting Brooklyn Nets has been questioned in connection with an alleged sexual assault that occurred early Tuesday morning, according to CBS Radio in Philadelphia.

The Nets are in Philadelphia to play the 76ers. The team was staying at the Four Seasons Hotel, where a 21-year-old female alleged that she was sexually assaulted at roughly 4 a.m. Tuesday. She was taken to the hospital after calling police.

A Nets player was taken in to the Philadelphia Special Victims Unit for questioning, although one Philadelphia television station reports that the player was not in the room where the alleged crime was committed. Several of the player's "associates" were also brought in for questioning.

The Nets issued a statement saying they are aware of the investigation and have no further comment. All healthy Nets players are expected to be in uniform for the game, according to the statement.
