Brandon Knight injury: Bucks PG leaves with strained hamstring

Rob Grabowski-USA TODAY Sports

Brandon Knight's debut with Milwaukee didn't last long due to injury.

Milwaukee Bucks point guard Brandon Knight will miss the remainder of the team's season opener against the New York Knicks after suffering a strained hamstring in the first quarter, the team announced. He only played two minutes during his debut with the franchise after coming over from the Detroit Pistons during the summer.

Acquired in the deal that sent Brandon Jennings to the Motor City, Knight started at point guard Wednesday night for Milwaukee. He was joined in the lineup by O.J. Mayo, Caron Butler, Khris Middleton and Larry Sanders, leaving the young center as the only Bucks starter on opening night with past experience in Milwaukee.

Knight didn't do much in his short appearance before heading to the locker room. In two minutes, he recorded one turnover and one defensive rebound before being replaced by rookie guard Nate Wolters. With primary backup Luke Ridnour also sidelined due to injury, Wolters and Gary Neal should see a boost in playing time Wednesday.
