Lance Stephenson given a technical foul for... taunting?

Pat Lovell-USA TODAY Sports

Let the players play. Literally. They were playing and then you stopped the play for something that maybe wasn't taunting.

So, there's a reason rules against taunting are in the NBA: some people out there are offended by the idea of highly paid athletes acting really happy that they did something really incredible against other highly paid athletes. Personally, I don't have a problem with it, perhaps because of a childhood spent playing NBA Street Vol. 2.

But, um, is this taunting?

Lance Stephenson just kinda holds the ball and pushes it in the vague direction of Tony Allen's face.

Should Matt Barnes have been ejected from the game for this?

Should Jason Richardson have been kicked out of the damn NBA for this?

It's not even clear Stephenson was taunting as opposed to just kinda palming the ball. And if he was, he should have been given trick points.
