The Miami Heat have struggled out of the gate, losing two of their first three games. The defending champions host the winless Washington Wizards at 6 p.m. ET. Nene sat out Wednesday with a calf injury and John Wall is questionable with back spasms.
The Minnesota Timberwolves will try to open the season with a third straight victory when they visit the New York Knicks, who are looking to bounce back after Derrick Rose hit a game-winning floater over Tyson Chandler Thursday. Kevin Love is averaging 27.5 points and 14.5 rebounds per game to start the season and is shooting 46 percent from beyond the arc.
The final game of the night features the Atlanta Hawks visiting the Los Angeles Lakers at 9:30 p.m. ET. The Lakers haven't won since their season opener against the Los Angeles Clippers, while the Hawks have split their first two games of the season.
