Warriors vs. 76ers final score: Golden State hands Philly first loss

Howard Smith-USA TODAY Sports

Andre Iguodala falls just two points shy of his career high, helps end Philly's early season unbeaten streak.

The Philadelphia 76ers were widely expected to be the worst team in the NBA this season, but their 3-0 start has made them the talk of the league. Golden State ended the Cinderella story on Monday.

The Warriors hit 15 three-pointers and held the upstart Sixers to 35 percent shooting in a 110-90 romp in Philadelphia. Andre Iguodala fell two points shy of his career high with 32 points, and the Golden State starting lineup cranked out 87 points in a convincing victory.

The difference in this game was clearly the shooting from beyond the arc. The sharpshooting Warriors hit nearly 40 percent of their 38 three-point attempts to the 76ers' 20 percent. But both teams were sloppy. The two sides combined for 46 turnovers, but the Warriors were far better from deep.

Iggy's 32 points led all scorers, while Steph Curry and David Lee contributed 18 apiece for the Warriors. Evan Turner and Michael Carter-Williams also went for 18 points, though MCW hit just four of the 17 shots he took.

Philadelphia has made the most out of a difficult early season schedule, but Golden State has been scoring at a different level than the Bulls, the Wizards, and even the Heat. The 76ers and Warriors are both 3-1 on the season.
